This Christian classic has been freshly translated from the 15th century text by John Rooney. An example of the two translations is given on the back cover: Early translation: Lo, in the cross standeth all things, and in dying lieth all: and there is none other way to life and to very inward peace but the way of the holy cross and of daily mortifying for if thou be dead with him thou shalt also live with Him. This Rooney translation: Look at it this way. Under the cross everything stands together: under death all is laid out. There is no other way to life and to inward peace except by dying daily to oneself in the way of the holy cross.
