We are a monastic community of Benedictine Nuns
As a contemplative community, our principal work is singing the Liturgy of the Hours. This is the official daily prayer of the Roman Catholic Church. The community gathers in our monastic church seven times a day to chant the Psalms which give a liturgical rhythm to the hours of each day. Our prayer is on behalf of and in union with all the people of Australia, and of the whole world.
Our Abbey is located two hours south of Sydney on the Illawarra Escarpment in New South Wales, Australia. It is situated on a bench of the escarpment surrounded by pockets of rainforest, and our pastures look out to the distant sea and south coast.
We share our spiritual journey by offering hospitality for both individual and group retreats, and we earn our living by producing art and craft work that we sell in the Abbey Shop. This online shop that you're browsing offers a wide range of spiritual books and religious gifts and is another avenue for earning our living.
Should you want to know more about us, see our web site, where you can also access the beautiful candles in our Candle and Craft Shop. These candles are crafted by our sisters, and can be personalised for all occasions.
Your can also visit our Shop in person at the Abbey itself between 9am and 4.45pm every day except Thursdays.
